$64,000 for a metal roof! Is the cost of labor and materials higher where you live? My Dad can put a metal roof on a single story small to medium size house for less than $7,000. Even if the internal structure needed redone it shouldn’t have been more than $15,000. I feel sorry for you if you got ripped off. If the guys that did your house charged 64,000 I hope they rebuilt the trusses (if needed), and used OSB, roll paper, 2x4s and 2x6s planks (not 1.5x4 furring strips which rot off in 20 years) and at least 18 (not 19) gauge metal. But don’t worry if they did actually do a good job your roof should last your lifetime unless a strong natural disaster strikes.

I've not been keeping up with the online boardgames community generally this last year, apart from the Discord server that I call home, you know the one :-) Both kids have their big national exams this year, the BAC for Rhianwen and the Brevet for Elis, as well as having to move on to uni and a new high school in September. I also finally managed to get to the UK in March to see my oldest daughter for the first time in years and to meet my grandson for the first time! He was 3 this month and is gorgeous. I miss our chats very much, and chatting to all our other online BG friends, but, like you, real life is just too busy, stressful, demanding and sometimes I just need to switch off from the screens and focus on what's tangible :-) I hope everything goes well for you with both the launch of RDR and the KS campaign! If RDR ever gets a French edition, let me know, I've got French friends that would love it ;-D 💚💚💚

Excellent list! I agree on most of what you said, especially on Dominion and Spirit Island. The only game I've played I don't agree on is Game of Thrones. Played it several times and I don't see the replayability since it has a balance issue.

I had the great good fortune to play Shadow Moon Syndicates recently at an NZ boardgame event (with Shem Phillips demoing it, no less!) and I can confirm this game is very, very good. It is very strategic, highly interactive, the rules are not too complex and even in the prototype version I played, the art and design was just fantastic. As I said in a short post on Boardgame Geek, we do not need any more games, but we will still back this one. It is a great game from a great content creator. It is really cool to see Jarrod having this string of successes. Well deserved sir!

About a year ago, my daughter was hospitalized. She’s OK now, but she was stuck in the hospital. I was thinking of getting a board game we could play together and based on your channel, we got Forbidden Island. She loved it so much and it got us through 4 days of being inpatient. Now, you’re our only source on whether we buy a game or not. Just wanted to say thank you for the hard work and content you put out. Sorry about your roof and the expense that went with it. Sounds like you have some great opportunities coming up though and we’re excited to keep supporting you!

I often see your reviews before I see the games show up in my store, which is great because it helps me explain a bit to customers how the game plays. VERY excited to see the book.
